Presumably kept by John Sellers, Hon. Secretary of Reddish Prize Band (Reddish Prize Gorton Silver Band).Reddish Prize Band formed originally in 1897 until it ceased to exist in 1968. The future Hon. Secretary of Reddish Prize Band John Sellers reformed the band in 1991. In 1997, the band merged with Gorton Silver Band to form Reddish Prize Gorton Silver Band, records of agreements and transfer of assets of which are in the collection. The collection comprises of correspondence to and from members of Reddish Prize Band and Reddish Prize Band Committee, event programmes and administration papers such as Meeting Minutes and invoices, as well as miscellaneous items such as band stand banners and magazines. The majority of correspondence in the collection is too or from John Sellers, Hon. Secretary of Reddish Prize Band and later Reddish Prize Gorton Silver Band. Other key personnel are Frank Cork, conductor and chairman of Reddish Prize Band, Revd. Eddie Fallows, trustee and later Chairman of Reddish Prize Band and Steve Shawcross, Musical Director (1999-2003).
