General notes:
Cheadle Bulkeley Township was in Cheshire and in the parish of Cheadle. The two townships of Cheadle Bulkeley and Cheadle Moseley were created in the 14th century and were united in 1879 under the name of Cheadle Township. Cheadle Bulkeley consisted of several scattered areas of land. It was in Stockport Poor Law Union from 1837. From 1872 Cheadle was included in Stockport Rural District until 1886 when Cheadle and Gatley Local Board was established. This in turn was superseded by Cheadle and Gatley Urban District Council in 1894.
