The Touchstone public house and adjacent shops on Prince's Street at its junction with Wellington Road North. These properties, some already acquired, became the site of a new Debenham's store. The clock tower visible behind the Touchstone is part of the head office of Stockport Corporation Transport Department on the corner of Heaton Lane, opposite, leading to the viaduct.
