1956:c.1956
Archives
The Christian Bethel Church (on London Road next to the George and Dragon - now "The Phoenix" - public house) was built by the Methodists in 1866. In 1956 the Elim Central Mission in Stockport purchased the building as the Full Gospel Tabernacle. In 1979 it was demolished to make way for New Moor Lane and a new Full Gospel Church was built 200 yards away to the south next to the Co-op Shopping Giant carpark. It opened in 1981.
