Steam Engine

Archives
Two steam locomotives, back to back. The front engine is 45530. The diagonal stripe on the drivers cab indicates the engine must not run "under the wires" south of Crewe as there is insufficient clearance to prevent arcing. The Patriot class was designed by Fowler. This engine, rebuilt by Ivatt, formerly LMS 5530, was built 3/4/1933 at Crewe, withdrawn 1/1/65 and cut up the following year. This engine was named Sir Frank Ree. None of this class survive.
