Car at traffic lights by the shelter and telephone box at the corner with Brinksway Bridge. The shelter was there since 1936 at least. In the 1940s the bus stop was past the Woolpack Inn, and one could see through the shelter window which was coming first, bus or tram, if a bus you had to run like blazes to catch it and cough up a penny as against a halfpenny on the tram.
