The Rising Sun fork junction looking up Buxton Road. The fountain was built in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Jubilee (later demolished early 1900s to make way for the trams. The shop on the left later became "Wainwrights" news agents, whilst the house next to it was later demolished to make way for entrance to Torkington Park and car park.
