Taken via Stockport Photo. Soc. the image shows how far up Churchgate the market stalls used to go - although actually they went even further up until they reached the car park. It is a busy sunny day, the canvas rooves of the stalls keeping the sun off the merchandise. In the right foreground is St Mary's Church and in the left background the back of the Market Hall.
