The ice queen [sound recording]

Neuhaus, Nele, 1967-2015
Audiobooks
Holocaust survivor and American citizen, Jossi Goldberg, is found shot execution-style in his house near Frankfurt. A five-digit number is scrawled in blood at the murder scene. The autopsy reveals an old tattoo on the corpse's arm - a blood-type marker of the kind used by Hitler's SS - causing detectives Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver Bodenstein to question Goldberg's true identity. Two more murders follow, and connections between the victims are revealed. All three were lifelong friends of Vera von Kaltensee: baroness, well-respected philanthropist, and head of an old, rich family that she rules with an iron fist. Pia and Oliver follow the trail all the way back to the end of the Second World War. No one is who they claim to be, and Kirchhoff and Bodenstein realize that they'll have to dig even deeper into the past before they can find an eyewitness who may be willing to come forward.
