Who is Jacqueline?
Rousseau, Victor, 1879-19602018
Large Print
After following a lone husky on the street, Paul Hewlett encounters the dog's owner - a beautiful young woman in furs, who is then savagely set upon by two strangers who attempt to abduct her. Thanks to Paul and the faithful hound, the would-be kidnappers are repelled, and he takes the mysterious woman - Jacqueline - to his apartment, leaving her there to sleep. But on returning, he discovers a grisly tableau: Jacqueline clutching a blood-stained knife, with a dead man at her feet.
