(The Stockport of Bygone Years) The buildings in the immediate foreground are still in existence, with the exception of the one between cottage on the left and the taller building. The trees were in Stockport Borough Cemetery grounds and the entrance pillars are still there today. To the left of the picture you can see the tower of Trinity Methodist Church, and a little to the right is the junction of Higher Hillgate with the main road. The corner was modernised when the District Bank was built in 1917.
