Tasked by the government spy Fitzroy to return to the Stapleford's Highland Lodge, Rory, Bertram and Euphemia are less than keen. When Euphemia discovers for purposes of the charade she has been demoted back to a maid she is furious. Rory still isn't speaking to her and Bertram, frankly, doesn't have a clue what is going on. Merry, Euphemia's best friend and fellow maid, also joins them, but they are prohibited from telling her of the secret nature of the meeting. The arrival of four 'Mr Smiths', a man from 'the Ministry' and some outrageous plans for Scotland raise tensions to boiling point, and that's not even mentioning the German spy lurking in the woods. But when the inevitable body turns up, they must all work together or find themselves jailed for murder.
