The Touchstone public house and shops on Prince's Street at its junction with Wellington Road North. Heaton Lane is straight ahead leading under the viaduct. The building with the tower visible beyond the pub is the Stockport Corporation Transport Department's head office and one of its two bus garages. The pub and shops, some already acquired, were later replaced with Debenham's store.
