Hazel Grove Railway Station opened in 1857. Over the last century many changes have been made to the station including the building of a new steel overbridge (as seen here in 1971) connecting Hatherlow Lane to the recreation grounds and cricket club. More bridges were added later towards the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977.
