This collection compromises of administrative records, commemorative material and a large collection of photo's. Whilst there are records showing the processes of school administration and staff, the items largely represent a history of the school from its opening in the 1960's to the 2000s. The collection was donated to Stockport Local Heritage Library in April 2013 from Tame Valley High School.

Custodial history:
Tame Valley County Primary School was built as a result of capital investment in Major School Building, in which six primary school projects were approved by the Ministry of Education, due to the pressure on accommodation in schools being particular high in the Brinnington area. The Education Committee released details of a proposal for Brinnington County Primary School, Blackberry Lane, in 1962. The school would accommodate 280 children, to be completed for the re-organisation of all-age primary schools by the end of 1964, and in anticipation of the birth rate steadily increasing from 1960 onwards. This building work commenced in December 1962 and was completed in July 1964. The school opened in September 1964 with 237 pupils on its roll and the head teacher was Mr. K. W. Burks. The school closed in June 2010, following a series of primary school closures in the area. The school had been placed in special measures by Offstead but were making improvements at the time of closure. Westmorland Primary, Westmorland Drive, was extended to accommodate the pupils from Tame Valley Primary School.
