Davenport Station about 1912. The lady sitting on the bench in the shadows is believed to be a Mrs Carlisle of Buxton, who sold eggs in the Davenport area for many years. The image shows the station before the platform on the left was covered and before alterations were made to the bridge. A number of people are standing on both platforms, with a train pulling in to the right. A number of advertisements can be seen around the station, including for Liptons, and Dewar's Whisky. Image is taken from Stockport Advertiser, October 1st 1964.
