The view from Dale House, Tiviot Dale, Stockport. The lorry, carrying sacks of coal, is on Tiviot Dale, heading towards the junction of Bridge Street (left) and Prince's Street (right), with Pearl Assurance over the former Burton's tailors shop on the corner. From Prince's Street Little Egerton Street runs right towards the car parks and Great Egerton Street. The land opposite Pearl Assurance has been cleared for the erection of a new store for Ethel Austin. Merseyway shopping centre is visible at top left. (No part of the proposed route of the motorway is in this picture.)
