Viewed from the riverbank, the River Mersey goes underneath Lancashire Bridge, from there to pass under the Merseyway Shopping Centre. The bridge is now buried in new shops. View from the Cheshire bank of the river showing the red sandstone with the old lockup at the top. On the right is the Dog and Buck pub, now demolished. This bridge marks the earliest river crossing in Stockport.
