Torkington House (on the corner of Torkington Road and London Road, c.1960) was originally the site of Gaskell's Silk Mill - said to be the first mill in Hazel Grove, where throwing and spinning took place in the upper rooms. The house was demolished mid-1960s and is now the front for Torkington Park. Opposite is the Bull's Head public house.
