Eric Linklater was one of the most respected and prolific Scottish writers of this century, yet more than 25 years have passed since his last collection of short stories was published. This selection covers Linklater's entire writing life. Eric Linklater (1899-1974) wrote scores of novels for adults and children. He was also a journalist in India, commander of a wartime fortress in the Orkney Islands, and rector of Aberdeen University.
