Design the Future Eco-Friendly Library Card
Competition Overview: We invite children and young people up to 16yo to unleash their creativity and design a brand new, environmentally friendly library card. This competition aims to inspire young artists to think about the importance of sustainability and libraries as hubs for knowledge and learning. Please email libraries@stockport.gov.uk for an entry form or call into one of our libraries.
Theme: Eco-Friendly Libraries: A Greener Tomorrow
Prize: The winning design will:
- Be featured on the new eco-friendly library cards.
- Receive a gift card to a local bookstore to encourage their love for reading.
- Receive a selection of art supplies to nurture their creativity.
Eligibility:
- Must be a Stockport resident or attend a school in Stockport.
- Must be age 16 or under.
Design Guidelines:
- Your design should reflect the theme of eco-friendly libraries and sustainability.
- Use vibrant colours and imaginative designs. Keep it fun, positive, and creative!
- Incorporate elements that represent the importance of reading, learning, and/or nature conservation.
- Make sure your design is suitable for printing on a library card (landscape orientation).
- Use any art medium of your choice: crayons, markers, watercolours, or digital art.
Submission Requirements:
- Artwork must be A4 landscape (include 1123px x 794size)
- If submitting in person at a library include your name and age on the back of of your artwork.
- If submitting digitally label the file with your initial, surname and age followed by _Librarycard eg “MSmith10_Librarycard”
Submit your artwork & Entry form to Libraries@stockport.gov.uk by 11th November.

Winner Announcement: Wednesday 29th November
