From 1872 to 1881 Reddish was part of Stockport Rural Sanitary District, then in 1881 Reddish Local Board was established. The 1894 Local Government Act (56 & 57 Vict. c73) transferred the Board’s powers to Reddish Urban District Council (qv). For poor law records see Reddish Township.
